Light Industrial work consists of creating and building products and pieces of larger products from pre-made parts using smaller-scale machines. An important part of the assembly process, light industrial work spans many industries.

Build a strong foundation in Light Industrial work at VTEC. Curriculum includes the use of special tools, equipment, and understanding of the industry. Students also learn safety skills needed to work in an industrial setting.

With VTEC’s Light Industrial program, students learn the technical and professional skills they need to find gainful employment in light industrial work. Through a partnership with Ivy Tech, VTEC offers a targeted, twelve-week course with hands-on training that culminates in a certificate from Ivy Tech. Students will leave VTEC feeling confident and ready to work. Classes are taught in Ivy Tech Valparaiso’s Flex Lab.

Upon completion of the program, students will have earned the following:

· Certificate of Skills Mastery from OE

· Certificate of Basic Production Principles from Ivy Tech

· Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification from American Red Cross

· Forklift Safety Certification

· OSHA Certificate
